Ultraviolette en première australienne au Melbourne Queer film festival

After the death of his grandmother Emma, Robin Hunzinger and his mother Claudie found a carefully preserved collection of letters that Emma received from a girl called Marcelle. As this evocative and tender documentary reveals, Marcelle and Emma were lovers in the mid-1920s ; just teenagers, however, they were forced to part ways. Years later, after Marcelle was committed to a sanatorium for tuberculosis, she wrote these letters to Emma — letters that speak of their secret, enduring love. Combining archive and avant-garde footage, as well as ephemeral music, this film offers a sensuous, poetic backdrop to a haunting portrait of a young woman ahead of her time.
